What happened: Midland dropped a district home game to Odessa on Tuesday, Feb. 3, falling 57–41. The loss moves Midland to 15–15 overall and 1–7 in district play. Odessa improves to 17–14 overall and 2–6 in district.

The big picture: Midland stayed competitive early, taking a slim 13–11 lead after the first quarter. Odessa answered in the second, edging the Lady Bulldogs 16–14 in the period to take a 29–27 advantage into halftime.

The Lady Bulldogs continued to battle in the third quarter, but Odessa maintained control, pushing the lead to 39–36 heading into the final period. Odessa pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring Midland 18–5 to secure the 57–41 district win.
