What happened: Midland Christian opened district play with a 52–17 home win over Fort Worth All Saints on Friday, Jan. 2. The Lady Mustangs improved to 16–6 overall and 1–0 in district play. All Saints dropped to 3–6 overall and 0–1 in district. Selah Fox led Midland Christian with a career-high 21 points in the district opener.

The big picture: From the opening tip, Midland Christian took control. In the first quarter, Fox hit four consecutive 3-pointers as the Lady Mustangs quickly built separation. As the game continued, Midland Christian extended the lead with steady scoring on both ends of the floor. Fox finished with seven 3-pointers, one of the highest single-game totals in program history.
