What happened: Midland picked up a district home win over Odessa on Tuesday, Feb. 3, defeating the Broncos 46–37. The win moves Midland to 9–21 overall and 1–5 in district play, while Odessa drops to 17–14 overall and 1–5 in district.

The big picture: Midland set the tone early, taking a 16–12 lead after the first quarter. The Bulldogs extended the advantage before halftime, outscoring Odessa 17–9 in the second quarter to carry a 33–21 lead into the break.

Odessa responded after halftime, trimming the margin to 37–33 by the end of the third quarter. However, Midland closed the game by holding the Broncos to four points in the final quarter, sealing the 46–37 district victory.
