See inside: Scooby-Doo turns library into mystery adventure
What happened: Midland Centennial Library unveiled its new exhibit, Scooby-Doo! Mansion Mayhem, on display through May 9. The interactive display invites visitors to join Mystery Inc. in solving a haunted mansion mystery involving a jewel-thieving ghost.
The big picture: Scooby-Doo! Mansion Mayhem turns the library into a fun, mystery-solving adventure for all ages. Participants hunt for clues, tackle puzzles, and uncover secrets in a classic Scooby-Doo haunted mansion setting. The exhibit features hands-on stations for each character.
Find evidence in haunted pictures with Daphne. Solve piano riddles and analyze clues with Velma. Make delicious snacks with Shaggy and Scooby. Follow footprints and test traps with Fred. Then finally, run and escape from a ghost! The library is hosting several Scooby-Doo themed events this month, including:
- STEAM: Mystery Machine Mayhem (ages 8-13), Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 5 p.m. (Downtown) and Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 5 p.m. (Centennial) – Tackle a Scooby-themed challenge by building a Mystery Machine with paper circuits, wheels, and headlights.
- Scooby-Doo! Beyond the Exhibit Book Club (ages 10-18), Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. – Discuss “Book Scavenger” by Jennifer Chambliss Bertman in the Teen Area at Centennial Library.
- Scooby-Doo! Family Movie Night: “Scooby-Doo” (family-friendly), Friday, Feb. 13 at 4:30 p.m. – Bring snacks and watch the 2022 PG-rated film in the Activity Room at Centennial Library.
- Scooby-Doo Game Night (ages 12-18), Friday, Feb. 20 at 4:30 p.m. – Join a themed board game session in the Teen Area at Centennial Library.
