What happened: Smalls Sliders, the Las Vegas-born chain famous for its 24/7 drive-thru slider burgers, opened a Midland location on Feb. 13, 2301 W. Wall St., and Midland showed up.

Lines wrapped around the building on opening day. When I stopped by, about 30 cards were in the drive-thru. Still, the staff kept the energy fun with punny staff banter like “Thanks for sliding in!” and once you reached the window, service moved quickly.

The big picture: The menu is simple and slider-focused. Think mini beef patties with cheese, pickles, and the signature ‘Smauce’. You can upgrade the classic with bacon, or go bigger with the double-meat “Biggie Smalls.” Everything pairs with their waffle-cut seasoned fries and dips like queso and extra Smauce.

They also offer vanilla, chocolate, and cookies-and-cream milkshakes, plus a limited-edition King Cale shake. Meals range from one to four sliders, so it works whether you want a quick bite or something shareable.

Go deeper: For something small, the food delivers. The burgers come out hot, delicious, and simple. The milkshakes are the real standout: thick and velvety, they feel like a treat worth the drive. The fries are solid and definitely better dipped in Smauce. At around $10-15 per person, it’s definitely an experience worth trying.

What’s next: Expect crowds for a bit, opening buzz is real. If you want to try it without the long wait, give it a week or two for things to settle down. It’s open daily from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and midnight on weekends. Pro tip: Download the app for mobile ordering to cut down on drive-thru time.
