What happened: Texas country music fans will have a chance to see one of the state’s most recognizable independent artists as Casey Donahew brings his live show to Midland. Donahew is scheduled to perform Friday, June 5, at 8 p.m. at The Venue at Live Oak, located at 3201 Elkins Road.
The big picture: A longtime staple of the Texas country and Red Dirt music scene, Donahew has built a loyal following over the past two decades with songs including “White Trash Story,” “Stockyards,” “Double-Wide Dream,” “Drove Me to the Whiskey,” and “One Light Town.”
Originally from the Fort Worth area, Donahew launched the Casey Donahew Band in 2002 and became one of the most successful independent country artists in Texas without major label backing. His blend of traditional country storytelling and Texas-style songwriting has helped him consistently top Texas music charts while touring throughout the country.
