What to watch: The Texas Size Garage Sale returns Oct. 2–7 and Oct. 17, with all proceeds benefiting Meals on Wheels, which delivers meals to homebound seniors through Senior Life Midland. You’ll find everything from furniture to clothing and household items, and every $10 spent at the sale helps pay for a delivered meal. The Texas Size Garage Sale funds about one-third of the Meals on Wheels program.

The big picture: The Texas Size Garage Sale is more akin to a pop-up thrift store than a typical yard sale, with more than 25,000 square feet of warehouse space to browse. Shoppers will find aisles of furniture, vintage art, housewares, adult and children’s clothing, décor, books, toys, antiques, and Christmas items.

Early-bird shopping begins on Friday, Oct. 2, with a $5 admission. Admission is free Oct. 3–7 and Oct. 17, and the sale is open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day at 407 E. Scharbauer Dr. Sales often go 50% and 75% off as the event progresses.

What’s next: There’s a lot to find, so bring bags and a way to haul furniture if you plan to purchase larger items. Cash, checks, and cards have historically been accepted. Confirm at the door just to be sure.
