The Greenwood girls basketball team made a significant jump during the 2024-2025 season. The Rangerettes posted their first winning season in three years under second-year Head Coach Aimee Kilgore with a 23-10 overall mark.

The Rangerettes opened the season with an 8-0 record and started collecting hardware. Greenwood won the Merkel Tournament in November, defeating Trinity Christian, Ballinger, Roscoe, and Merkel by an average of 18 points per game. Coach Kilgore’s team followed that with a second-place finish at the Navarro Tournament in December. Greenwood knocked off John Paul II, Poth, Randolph, and Navarro. Caili McDonald and Emily Jones both earned All-Tournament Team selections.

Greenwood tipped off District 3-4A competition with a 35-22 win over Andrews on the road. Coach Kilgore’s squad later swept every team in the league, except Seminole, and finished second in district play with an 8-2 record and a three-game win streak heading into the postseason. Several Rangerettes also earned All-District honors and standout awards. Koda Robbins earned the title of “Co-Defensive MVP.” Jones, McDonald, and Kobi Strickland were named to the 1st Team. Brooklyn Tiemann earned the 2nd team nod. Lexi Stewart and Angel Smith were both tabbed to the Honorable Mention list.

Greenwood took on Pampa in the first round of the postseason for the second time in three seasons. The Rangerettes’ season came to an end with the 51-42 loss. Coach Kilgore and her group improved their win total from the previous year by 10 and recorded the program’s first winning season since the 2021-2022.
