Beal Park’s new look: see what’s coming to the $46M project
What to watch: The progress on Beal Park’s new ExxonMobil Soccer Complex continues, and new renderings reveal big plans for the improved recreation spot.
Why it matters: The $46 million project marks a major investment, setting the stage for a park that will serve local families, athletes, and visitors for years to come. Spanning over 100 acres, the park’s redesign will introduce a wide range of new features, creating a central space for both competitive sports and family fun.
The big picture: The transformation will roll out in three phases. When complete, Beal Park will feature 62 soccer fields, a signature playground, an amphitheater, and a playground. Residents will continue to enjoy the existing amenities, including baseball, softball, skateboarding, cricket, basketball, fishing, disc golf, and a dog park.
- Phase 1: Finishing by the end of 2025
- 40 multi-age youth fields
- 645 parking spaces
- Phase 2: Starting summer 2026, finishing by late 2027
- Custom splash park and playground
- Signature amphitheater and shaded structures
- 12 soccer fields and disc golf
- 245 parking spaces
- Restrooms
- Phase 3: Expected by late 2027
- 10 larger soccer fields
- Concession area
- RV spaces and 1,100 additional parking spaces
Beal Park will soon host Midland Soccer Association games, youth tournaments, and year-round recreation. Expanded parking capacity ensures that families can access amenities easily even during sports tournaments, community events, or weekend crowds.
Go deeper: Funded by $18.2 million in community donations and additional city investment, the Beal Park project represents one of Midland’s largest park developments to date. City leaders, community partners, and ExxonMobil officially broke ground Feb. 12, on the ExxonMobil Soccer Complex at Beal Park, marking the beginning of a new era for recreation in Midland.
