What happened: Greenwood saw their perfect season come to an end with a 35–14 loss to Brock on Friday, Dec. 5, in Abilene. The Rangers finish the season with an overall record of 13–1. The game started slowly, with the Rangers trailing 0–7 in the first quarter but neck-and-neck with Brock at halftime, 14–14. Ultimately, Greenwood started falling after the third quarter, trailing 14–28.

Go deeper: Brock opened the game with a powerful goal-line push. Bryer McDonald leapt over the pile for the first touchdown. Brock followed with several well-executed play-action passes from Holt Frazier, including a key completion to Jack Farhat that moved the ball inside the 10. McDonald later powered in another run to extend Brock’s early advantage.

Greenwood quarterback Lincoln Madrid sparked the Rangers’ offense with a deep pass to Dylan Payton, who slipped through defenders for major yardage and put the Rangers in scoring range. Later, Hyden McNutt hauled in a touchdown reception late in the second quarter to tie the game. Madrid scrambled effectively under pressure, extending plays despite a heavy Brock pass rush.

The turning point came when Brock’s Colt Matlock intercepted Madrid and returned it for a touchdown. That defensive score flipped momentum back to the Eagles and highlighted the pressure Greenwood’s quarterback faced throughout the half.
