Rangerettes roll past Pecos in dominant district win
What happened: Greenwood earned a district home win over Pecos on Friday, Feb. 8, rolling to a 58–13 victory. The win moves Greenwood to 15–15 overall and 5–4 in district play. Pecos falls to 0–18 overall and 0–9 in district. Emily Jones led the Rangerettes with 14 points.
The big picture: Greenwood set the tone early, taking a 10–5 lead after the first quarter. The Rangerettes widened the gap in the second quarter, outscoring Pecos 21–3 to carry a 31–8 advantage into halftime.
After the break, Greenwood continued to control the game, pushing the lead to 47–12 by the end of the third quarter. The Rangerettes closed the night by holding Pecos to one point in the fourth quarter to secure the 58–13 district win.
