What happened: Greenwood High School varsity volleyball opened its season with a strong start, defeating Class 3A Idalou in straight sets. The Rangerettes edged out the first set 26-24, then carried their momentum into the second, sealing a 25-18 win.

With the sweep, GHS begins the year 1-0 and quickly turns its attention to the second match of the doubleheader against Class 5A Abilene High School.
