What to watch: On Friday, Nov. 7, The River Fine Arts Studio in Midland invites students aged 6-16 to its “Kids Sew: Stuffy Stitching” class. It is a hands-on experience where young participants design and sew their very own stuffed animals.

The big picture: This sewing class allows young students to build practical skills like pattern-reading, hand-sewing, and design thinking. Events like “Stuffy Stitching” contribute to a broader goal of hands-on learning, building confidence and curiosity in young participants while also engaging families in a meaningful shared experience. Wear comfy clothes or pajamas and get excited to see your creation come to life.

Go Deeper: The event is from 6-9 p.m. at 4401 N. Big Spring St. The $30 fee covers all materials needed to design and sew a stuffed animal, plus a pizza dinner for each student. Students are welcome regardless of sewing experience. The event is for ages 6-16, and registration is required.
