Rebels take crosstown win over Bulldogs in fourth quarter

What happened: Legacy earned a 49–41 district win over crosstown rival Midland on Friday, Feb. 6. The victory moved the Rebels to 11–16 overall and 5–2 in district play. The Bulldogs fell to 9–22 overall and 1–6 in district.
The big picture: Legacy built an early advantage, taking a 14–8 lead after the first quarter behind steady offense and defensive pressure. The Rebels extended the margin in the second quarter, entering halftime with a 28–25 lead after withstanding a Midland push before the break.
After halftime, Midland briefly surged in front, outscoring Legacy 14–3 in the third quarter to take a 39–31 lead heading into the fourth. Legacy responded in the final quarter, flipping the momentum with an 18–2 run to close the game. The Rebels held Midland to just two points in the fourth quarter to secure the 49–41 district win.
