Rebels earn five-point district win over San Angelo Central

What happened: Legacy picked up a 67–62 district win over San Angelo Central on Tuesday, Jan. 20, handing the Bobcats their second district loss of the season. The win lifted the Rebels to 8–14 overall and 2–0 in district play, while San Angelo Central fell to 20–5 overall and 1–1 in district.
The big picture: Legacy established the tone early, opening the game with an 18–11 first-quarter lead. San Angelo Central responded in the second, but the Rebels continued to find answers and carried a 35–30 advantage into halftime.
The game remained tight through the third quarter, with Legacy extending the margin to 56–47 entering the final period. San Angelo Central made a late push to cut into the lead, but the Rebels executed down the stretch, closing out the five-point district win.
What’s next: Legacy heads to Odessa on Thursday, Jan. 22, to face Permian (15–10 overall, 2–0 in district). Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
