Rebels win 45–42 thriller over Frenship in district showdown
What happened: Midland Legacy edged Wolfforth Frenship 45–42 on Friday, Oct. 17, in a thrilling district matchup on the road. The Rebels jumped out early, traded scores all night, and sealed the win in the final minutes with a clutch touchdown to stay in the district race. The win moved Legacy to 2-0 in district and 3-4 overall.
The big picture: Legacy delivered one of its most explosive performances of the season, fueled by quarterback JP Reyes’ precision in the passing game and the relentless ground attack of running back Hayes Hamm. The Rebels and Tigers traded blows in the first half that ended 35–28 in Legacy’s favor. Caden Ellis electrified with a kickoff-return touchdown in the second quarter, while Reyes connected on four touchdown passes.
