  • No November election: Four candidates filed for Board of Trustees Places 3, 7, 8, and 9, and none drew an opponent, according to an announcement from the college. The candidates included Jacobe Kendrick (Place 3), Adrian Carrasco (Place 7), Scott Lynch (Place 8), and Kelsie Rasure (Place 9). Kendrick, Carrasco, and Lynch are sitting trustees. Rasure would replace Trustee Scott Kidwell, who is not seeking re-election.

Because every candidate is running unopposed, the board will certify the candidates as unopposed and order the cancellation of the general election. Under Texas Election Code Chapter 2, a political subdivision may cancel its portion of an election when no candidate faces opposition. The unopposed candidates are then declared elected to their terms.

Canceling the election also eliminates the cost the college would have paid to hold its share of the November vote.
