What happened: Midland Christian rallied for a 35–31 home win over Grace Prep on Friday, Feb. 6. The win moves the Lady Mustangs to 28–6 overall and 12–0 in district play. Grace Prep falls to 22–8 overall and 10–2 in district, with both district losses coming against Midland Christian. As a result, the Lady Mustangs moved into sole possession of first place and remain unbeaten in district.

The big picture: Grace Prep controlled the early tempo, taking a 12–6 lead after the first quarter. Midland Christian stayed within reach in the second quarter, but Grace Prep extended the margin to 19–13 at halftime.

After the break, Midland Christian began to chip away. Free throws from Jordan Stokes and Jordyn Hamilton helped keep the Mustangs close. Then, an and-one by Lauren Alvizo late in the third quarter cut the deficit to 25–23 heading into the fourth.

Momentum finally flipped in the final period. Hamilton attacked the paint for an early basket. Shortly after, Stokes knocked down a momentum-shifting three from the top of the key. Midland Christian closed the game at the line and sealed the comeback with another Selah Fox three, completing the 35–31 rally.
