The Mustangs controlled all four quarters and improved to 6–3 overall and 3–1 in district play. Midland Christian’s offense was dominant, piling up 564 total yards, 304 rushing and 260 passing.

Quarterback Jaxon Franco threw for 260 yards and four touchdowns, spreading the ball around with precision. The Mustangs’ rushing attack set the tone early. Brody Todd carried 13 times for 121 yards and a touchdown. Caleb Cruz added 125 yards and another score on just eight carries. Coy Hays chipped in 22 yards and one touchdown on two attempts, giving the team three rushing scores.

Go deeper: Franco’s passing game involved several key players. Payton Ross had five catches for 80 yards and a touchdown. Cal Rodríguez added 55 yards and a touchdown, and Jarret Stockstill caught three passes for 41 yards and a touchdown. Jackson Griffin found the end zone on a 12-yard reception, making four different receivers with touchdown grabs.

Grapevine Faith threw for 371 yards, but the Mustangs held them to just 58 rushing yards. Linebacker Coy Hays and lineman Isaiah Mathews led a physical defense that applied steady pressure all night.
