What happened: Midland High came up one point short Thursday, Sept. 25,  in a 43–42 non-district loss to California’s Inglewood High School at home. The Bulldogs built a 28–8 halftime lead, holding Inglewood in check through two quarters, but the Sentinels adjusted after the break and found their rhythm.

While Inglewood closed the gap in the third, Midland held strong to a 35–27 lead heading into the fourth. Inglewood pulled ahead in the final minutes to edge Midland in a back-and-forth finish. The Bulldogs dropped to 1–4 overall after the narrow loss.
