What happened: Midland High defeated Odessa 45–21 on Friday, Oct. 17, in a dominant home district win. After falling behind 7–0 early, the Bulldogs responded with three rushing touchdowns in the first half to take a 20–14 lead at halftime. Midland extended the margin in the second half, outscoring the Bronchos 25–7 and sealing the victory with a 22-point fourth quarter. The win moved Midland to 1-1 in district play and 2–5 overall.

The big picture: The Bulldogs’ performance marked one of their most complete games of the season.
