What happened: The Midland High Lady Bulldogs showed grit and growth over the weekend, battling through a narrow 40-45 loss to a strong Levelland team on Friday, Nov. 7, before bouncing back with an impressive 68–45 victory over Andrews on Saturday, Nov. 8.

Levelland, a 21-win team that reached the area round in the playoffs last season, tested Midland early. The Lady Bulldogs trailed 11-25 at halftime but roared back in the second half, outscoring the Lobos 29–20 behind sharp ball movement and tougher defense. Though the comeback fell just short, Midland’s effort and resilience set the tone for the weekend.

Go deeper: Less than 24 hours later, the Lady Bulldogs dominated Andrews from the opening tip. Midland exploded for 22 first-quarter points and maintained control the rest of the way, showcasing balanced scoring, steady rebounding, and improved execution. The win highlighted the team’s depth and quick response after Friday’s close loss.

What’s next: The Lady Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 11, when they host Stanton at 6 p.m. With confidence building and team chemistry clicking early, Midland looks ready to keep momentum rolling into another strong week.
