Watch out for these September road closures
The City of Midland has several road and utility projects scheduled for this month to keep traffic moving smoothly and city services reliable. While the work is necessary, it means a few detours and delays for drivers across town. Here’s what to watch for in the weeks ahead:

-
Oriole Drive: between Mockingbird Lane and Meadowlark Lane, and between Robin Lane and Cardinal Lane, closed Aug. 21–Sept. 21 for utility work.
-
Briarwood Avenue: one lane between Roadrunner Trail and North County Road 1247, closed Sept. 9–Sept. 23 for utility work.
- Kansas Avenue: between Colorado Street and Main Street, closed Sept. 10–Oct. 1 for utility work and road work.
-
Illinois Avenue: between Lamesa Road and Carver Street, closed Sept. 5–Oct. 3, for utility work.
- Main Street: between Wadley Avenue and Scharbauer Drive, closed Sept. 8–Oct. 6, for road work.
- Polo Club Road (north/south bound): between Bluebird Lane to the end of the road, and Cardinal from Polo Club Road to the end of the road, closed from Sept. 10–Oct. 10 for road work.
