What happened: Midland fell 3–2 to Frenship on Tuesday, Sept. 23, in its first hard-fought district matchup. The Lady Bulldogs battled through five sets, trading momentum throughout the night before Frenship edged out the win in the final frame.

Frenship took the first set 25–16, Midland rebounded in the second 26–24, and Frenship answered in the third 25–22. Midland tied it up with a dominant 25–16 fourth set before Frenship claimed the deciding fifth 16–14. The loss moved Midland to 0–1 in district and 25–8 overall.

What’s next: Midland travels to Odessa Permian on Friday, Sept. 26, looking to bounce back and continue strong district play.
