Midland volleyball sweeps Legacy in crosstown showdown

What happened: Midland earned a 3-0 win over crosstown rival Legacy on Tuesday, Oct. 21, securing the sweep with set scores of 25-20, 25-16, and 25-22. The victory moved the Lady Bulldogs to 33-8 overall and 8-1 in district play, while the Lady Rebels fell to 30-13 overall and 7-3 in district play. The win moved Midland into the district’s top spot.
Midland stayed composed under pressure, especially during Legacy’s late third-set surge. The Bulldogs’ teamwork and consistent communication helped them close out each set with confidence. Legacy showed resilience throughout the match, pushing points deep and rallying through long volleys that kept the packed crowd engaged from start to finish.
What’s next: Midland will play its final game of the regular season on the road at San Angelo Central on Friday, Oct. 24. Legacy looks to regroup and prepare for its final regular season matchup at home on Friday, Oct. 24, against Odessa Permian.
