What happened: The Midland High Lady Bulldogs closed out an incredible 2025 volleyball season as District 2-6A champions and bi-district playoff winners. Midland finished 35–9 overall, showing teamwork, resilience, and championship focus from start to finish.

After sweeping San Angelo Central on Oct. 7, the Lady Dawgs surged through district play with wins over Frenship, Permian, Odessa High, and Legacy. Their nine-match winning streak to end the regular season secured the district title and top playoff seed in West Texas.

Go deeper: The Lady Bulldogs carried that momentum into the postseason, sweeping El Paso Franklin 3–0 in the bi-district round. Strong serving, clean passing, and sharp offense powered the dominant win. Midland’s season ended in the area round against Byron Nelson, the nation’s top-ranked team. Even in defeat, the Lady Dawgs showed heart, composure, and pride that reflected the strength of their program.
