Summit Center has become a go-to spot for Midland families
What to watch: For Midland families, Summit Center has quickly become one of the city’s easiest places to venture. The 20-acre mixed-use development in northwest Midland, off Midkiff Road and Mockingbird Lane, offers open space for kids, casual dining options, and a built-in way to spend quality time without planning an entire outing.
The heart of Summit Center is its 4-acre central park, landscaped with nearly 400 trees and native plants, designed for lingering rather than rushing. Open lawns, shaded pavilions, walking paths, and a natural play area make it easy for kids to move while parents sit nearby.
Go deeper:
- If you’re grabbing a quick treat: Twelve Gate Coffee, Creperia A & I, and Kilwins offer easy stops for coffee, crepes, or ice cream.
- If you’re meeting friends or family: Providencia offers sit-down modern Mexican cuisine, while The Pub West Texas leans casual and kid-tolerant.
- If you need movement built in: Renewed Strength Fitness anchors the recreation side with CrossFit, rock climbing, cycling, and more. The Pickleball Pavilion offers five indoor and three outdoor courts, with leagues and open play.
Additional businesses on site include Summit Petroleum, Firebird Energy II, Cosee Home by Kristina Leigh, Natural Skin Health, Eight 31 Financial, and Brave National Bank.
What’s next: Summit Center is still growing. Four leasable spaces remain, including build-to-suit retail or office sites, a future food hall or retail vendor concept, and adaptable space for an upscale dining tenant. A forthcoming dining option is an expansion of Red Oak Kitchen from its Odessa location, expected to open in June 2026.
