What to watch: Midland families have an excellent lineup of summer camps this year. From tech and ninja adventures to dance, art, horses, and full-day YMCA programs, there’s something for every age and interest. Here is the full list of summer camps currently offered, and most run weekly sessions from early June through late July or August.

  • Casa de Amigos Literary Camp — Entering 2nd – 7th grade. June 1 – July 23, 11:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    This fun summer literary camp lets kids engage with the arts through a variety of enjoyable activities, including music, arts and crafts, literature exploration, and special guest presentations.

  • Midland College – Kids’ College — Entering 1st–8th grade. Weekly sessions Mon-Thurs June 1–25, from 1–5 p.m.
    Midland College’s Kids’ College offers fun, educational introductory courses in arts and crafts, science, sports, music, STEM, theater, and more.

    • Cost: $60-$120 per class

  • Permian Basin Ninja — Ages 6 and up. Sessions June 1–5 and July 15–19, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
    These action-packed indoor camps are perfect for energetic kids who love conquering ninja warrior-style obstacles. Campers are grouped by skill level and led by trained coaches to build strength, agility, and confidence through safe and fun fitness challenges.

  • Urban Air Adventure Park  — All ages. Weekly sessions June 1–July 31, 9 a.m.–12 p.m. and 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
    Urban Air’s Summer Adventure Camp keeps kids moving all day with full access to trampolines, climbing walls, ropes courses, ninja warrior zones, games, and creative activities in a safe, supervised setting.

  • Code Ninjas  — Ages 5–14. Weekly sessions June 1—July 31, 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. and 12–3 p.m.
    Code Ninjas offers tech-themed camps where kids can choose their interest to dive into, including coding video games, YouTube tools, AI storytelling, Minecraft mods, robotics, digital art, 3D worlds in Roblox, and stop-motion animation.

  • Midland YMCA  — Ages 5–12. June 1 – Aug 14, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
    Each day includes indoor and outdoor games, arts & crafts, STEM challenges, sports, character development, and daily swimming with swim lessons included for every camper. For those joining the Northwest location, exciting field trips are planned as well.

  • Sibley Nature Center — Ages 8 – 15. June 2 – July 21, 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
    Camps include: Forensic Science Camp — study entomology, prints, and crime investigation. Grow Girl Grow — art, yoga, garden fun, and girl power. Bunch of Boys — roaming and discovering the outdoors. Nature Nerds — hands-on science and outdoor adventures.

  • Petroleum Museum — Ages 4–15, varying by camp. Weekly sessions June 9–July 23, 9–11 a.m. and 1–5 p.m.
    STEAM Sprouts Camp for 4- and 5-year-olds with experiments and projects on planet exploration, ocean travel, tool work, and more. Older kids can enjoy summer science camp, STEAM Sprouts, microscopic discovery, design and creation, and Earth Studies.

  • Museum of the Southwest – STEM Workshops — Ages 5 and up. June 2 – Jul 24, 10 a.m.– 4 p.m.
    Camps include: LEGO Robotics (ages 10+) — engineering, design, and problem-solving. Choral Connections (ages 5–9 and 12+) — vocal confidence and musical games. Sculpture Workshops (ages 6–11 and 12+) — sculpting free-for-all.

  • Bush Family Home Cowboy Camp — Ages 6–11. Tue – Fri, June 16 – 19, 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
    This half-day camp gives kids an interactive look at life during the Bush family’s time in Midland. Activities will include cowboy soap-making, real horses and their care, and much more.

  • FBC Connect Camp — Entering K–8th grade. June 29–July 2, 10 a.m.– 2 p.m.
    Connect Camp offers a week of continuous fun and engaging activities. Campers build lasting friendships while participating in daily faith-based lessons and a variety of exciting programs.

  • Watersong — Ages 8 – 12. July 27 – July 31, 8 a.m.–12 p.m.
    Campers will discover arthropods, learn to identify insects and their habitats, practice safe bug-catching techniques, and build their own insect collection to take home. The program includes a custom camp T-shirt, journal, insect net, and collection box.

  • Shanandoah Bar M Ranch Camp — Ages 5 – 18. May 11 – Jul 10, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
    This horse-focused camp offers beginner-to-advanced lessons in horse safety, anatomy, care, and grooming. Campers also enjoy crafts and other ranch activities. Participants can bring their own horse or rent one from the ranch.

    • Cost: $450 beginner, $400 intermediate and advanced, $475 with a camp horse

  • The Studio at Kidd’s Canvas — Ages 4–14 — must be fully potty-trained. Weekly camps May 25–August 24, 10 a.m.– 2 p.m.
    Art camp, slime-making, science experiments, games, and creative chaos are all part of the studio’s fun. All sessions are drop-off-only, and campers must bring or purchase lunch. 4-day or 5-day options are available.

  • Steve & Kate’s Camp — Ages 4–12. May 26 – Aug 6, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
    This highly flexible, child-led camp gives campers the freedom to choose which activities they want to do and for how long each day. The wide variety of options includes animation, sewing, baking, sports, filming, robotics, water play, game rooms, and more.

  • Snapology — Ages 4 – 12. Weekly sessions all summer long, 9 a.m.–12 p.m. or 1– 4 p.m. and 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
    Snapology camps engage kids through hands-on STEAM activities like robotics, drone building, coding, LEGO engineering, animation, and movie-making.
