Zoo Midland construction expands into Savanna area
What happened: Despite last month’s blustery conditions, construction continued moving forward at Zoo Midland. Zoo officials shared that the first guest and animal areas are taking shape, with work now expanding into the Savanna section of the project. Foundations have been poured, and framing is underway.
The big picture: Major infrastructure work across the site is progressing as well. Walls are up on the service buildings, exterior cladding has been installed, and covered golf cart parking for staff is now complete. Crews have also finished the zoo’s perimeter fencing and privacy screen, while water, sewer, and stormwater connections are continuing around the property.
