What happened: Greenwood’s varsity volleyball team wrapped up its opening day double-header with a tough 3-0 loss to Class 5A Abilene High. The Rangerettes battled hard, keeping the first two sets close at 25-21 and 25-23. Abilene pulled away in the third, taking it 25-16.

Greenwood opens the season 1-1 and will look to bounce back Friday at the Monahans tournament.
