Midland invites artists and families to Chalk the Block Oct. 18
What to watch: The City of Midland’s Chalk the Block event returns to downtown Midland on Saturday, Oct. 18, transforming Centennial Park into a canvas of color from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why it matters: Now in its second year, the event brings together local artists, students, and families for a celebration of creativity, community, and public art. The free, family-friendly event features live entertainment, food trucks, vendor booths, and activities for all ages.
Go deeper: Last year’s winners included Anna Celeste, whose winning design earned her the opportunity to paint a mural at City Hall, and Lluvia Torres, who took home both the High School Chalk Art Competition prize and the People’s Choice Award.
Artist, vendor, volunteer, and sponsor applications are now open.
