Why it matters: The mission of Midland 101 is to help residents understand how local government works while building interest in community leadership. In turn, the program gives participants a strong foundation for leadership roles and civic engagement across Midland.

The big picture: Midland 101 is an interactive program designed to make city government approachable and engaging. These sessions highlight different aspects of city operations, from water supply and public safety to the airport and downtown development. Along the way, participants meet city leaders, explore public service, and connect with fellow residents who share a passion for Midland’s future.

Go deeper: Sessions meet once a month from October through April 2026, running from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants should attend at least five of the seven sessions. To apply, you must:
