Rangerettes clinch playoff spot with win over Fort Stockton

What happened: Greenwood closed district play with a 47–27 win over Fort Stockton on Tuesday, Feb. 10. The victory moved the Rangerettes to 16–15 overall and 6–4 in district play, securing third place in 4A Region I District 3. Fort Stockton finished second in the district at 18–16 overall and 7–3 in district.
Emily Jones led Greenwood with 21 points, followed by Brooklyn Tiemann with 10. Kailyn Reeves paced Fort Stockton with 16 points.
The big picture: Greenwood set the tone early, opening the game with a 14–1 first-quarter lead behind strong defensive pressure. The Rangerettes continued to build separation in the second quarter, extending the advantage to 21–12 at halftime.
After the break, Greenwood stayed in control, pushing the margin to 36–20 by the end of the third quarter. In the final period, the Rangerettes finished the game with consistent scoring on both ends, closing out the 47–27 district win.
