Rebels hold off Permian in key district clash

What happened: Legacy earned a 67–59 home district win over Permian on Tuesday, Feb. 10. The Rebels improved to 12–16 overall and 6–2 in district play, while the Panthers fell to 19–12 overall and 6–2 in district. J’Varion Starling led Legacy with 14 points, followed by Tristine Turner with 13 and Ariza Thompson with 11. Permian was paced by Kj Miller with 21 points and Javariane Beck with 14.
The big picture: Legacy built an early edge, leading 19–16 after the first quarter. Then, the Rebels widened the gap in the second quarter, outscoring Permian 21–10 to take a 40–26 lead into halftime.
After the break, Permian responded, cutting the deficit to 51–47 by the end of the third quarter. However, Legacy answered in the fourth, scoring 16 points while holding Permian to 12. This secured the eight-point district win.
