The Midland Legacy girls basketball team continued the program’s postseason tradition with its 15th straight playoff appearance to close the 2024-2025 season. The Lady Rebels advanced with their 8-2 record and second-place finish in District 2-6A competition.

Head Coach Ginger Hartman and her squad tipped off tourney play in mid-November at the Southwest High School Tournament. LHS collected wins against Southwest, London, Corpus Christi Moody, and Southwest Legacy over the three days and outscored those opponents 269-157. The Lady Rebs later bookended non-district competition at the Byron Johnston Holiday Classic in Midland. Coach Hartman’s group went 2-1 with its biggest victory coming in overtime against Centennial, where LHS escaped with the 69-68 win. The Midland squad also added a 51-31 victory over El Paso Socorro to close the stretch.

Midland Legacy opened the District 2-6A slate with a dominant 4-1 record through the first half of competition. LHS followed that up with season sweeps of San Angelo Central, Odessa High, Midland High, and Permian. The Lady Rebels wrapped up league play with only two losses, finishing only behind the Frenship Lady Tigers.

Seven members of this squad were also recognized by the rest of the district.  Aniyah Mayberry was named the Defensive Player of the Year, and Jaelynn Norman earned the title of  “Newcomer of the Year.” Additionally, Erinn Mayberry and Kyndall Torres were named to the 1st Team All-District list. Tarayah Hubert and Natalie Primera were recognized as a part of the 2nd Team. Cayzli Wilson earned the Honorable Mention nod.
