What happened: Midland Classical lost 77–53 to Abilene Christian on Tuesday, Dec. 2, after falling behind 52–19 in the first half. MCA finished the game with a strong 19-point fourth quarter to narrow the score. The loss moves MCA’s overall record to 4–6, and ACS’ record improved to 3-5.

Coy Nicholas led Midland Classical with 18 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter.

Brysonn Waggoner led four Abilene Christian players in double figures with 30 points, including seven 3-pointers in the first half. Kamdan Allen scored 16 points, Liam Thomas 13, and Cason Houston added 11.

What’s next: Midland Classical now turns its focus to tournament play. The boys will head to the Denver City Shootout on Thursday, Dec. 4, along with the girls’ team, to compete through the weekend.
