What happened: Midland Christian fell 42–33 at home to Southwest Christian on Tuesday, Feb. 10. The Lady Mustangs’ first loss since December drops them to 30–7 overall and 13–1 in district play. Southwest Christian improves to 28–8 overall and 11–3 in district. Despite the loss, Midland Christian clinched the TAPPS 5A District 1 Championship and will advance to the playoffs.

Jordyn Hamilton led MCS with 12 points. Maley Campbell paced Southwest Christian with 19 points, while McKay Campbell added 12.

The big picture: Southwest Christian jumped out to an early lead, taking a 16–7 advantage after the first quarter. Midland Christian kept the game close in the second, trailing 23–20 at halftime. The third quarter remained competitive, with SWC holding a slim 30–28 lead entering the fourth. Southwest Christian pulled away in the final frame, outscoring the Lady Mustangs 12–5 to secure the 42–33 victory.
