Lady Mustangs stay unbeaten in district with 56–21 win

What happened: Midland Christian earned a decisive district win over Lubbock Christian on Tuesday, Feb. 3, rolling to a 56–21 victory. The win moves Midland Christian to 27–6 overall and 11–0 in district play. Trinity Christian drops to 14–19 overall and 5–6 in district. Jordyn Hamilton and Jordan Stokes led the Lady Mustangs with 17 and 16 points, respectively.
The big picture: Midland Christian controlled the game from the opening tip. Jordyn Hamilton scored eight of the team’s 12 first-quarter points, while Jordan Stokes added four from the paint to give MCS a 12–2 lead after one.
The Lady Mustangs stretched the margin in the second quarter. Jordan Stokes knocked down two 3-pointers from the top of the key, and Selah Fox added another from the corner. Paint touches from Hamilton and Addi Tatsch followed, along with free throws from Lauren Alvizo, Hamilton, and Tatsch. Midland Christian entered halftime ahead 30–8.
MCS stayed in control after the break. Stokes opened the third quarter with a 3-pointer, then Hamilton finished through contact for an and-one. Fox capped the period with a corner 3, and Midland Christian led 44–13 heading into the fourth.
In the final quarter, Stokes hit another 3 from the corner. Kailey Harris and Selah Fox scored inside, and Harris later added a 3 from the outside. Addi Tatsch finished the scoring with a 2-pointer as MCS closed out the 56–21 win.
