The Midland High softball team made its fifth straight postseason appearance to close the 2025 season. The Lady Bulldogs earned their consecutive bid with an 8-2 record and second-place finish in District 2-6A competition.

MHS started with an impressive stretch during non-district play. Head Coach Shawnda Vines and her team earned a 19-2 record through the first month of the year. The Lady Bulldogs also added a season-best 15-game win streak.

Midland High opened District 2-6A play with wins over Permian and San Angelo Central, outscoring those teams 23-2. The Lady Bulldogs kicked off the month of April by collecting six-straight league wins and shutting out the Lady Panthers and Lady Bobcats for season sweeps. The most notable win for the Midland team came against Frenship. Coach Vines’ group handed the Lady Tigers their only district loss, 6-2. Pitcher Malyah Carrillo was the standout in the circle, tossing 10 strikeouts in the win.

MHS only lost two games in district play and punched its postseason ticket for the fifth time in a row. Several Lady Bulldogs also earned All-District recognitions. Bree Battenfelder, Kam Weir, and Baylie Savage were all named to the 1st Team. Julessa Vasquez, Emerie Ream, Jade Rodriguez, and Marley Porter were tabbed to the 2nd Team. Amayli Gonzalez also added an Honorable Mention nod.
