Bulldogs go 1–2 at Tall City Oilman’s Tournament, 6-9 overall

What happened: Midland went 1-2 at the Tall City Oilman’s Tournament in Midland, competing from Thursday, Dec. 11, through Saturday, Dec. 13, moving the Bulldogs to 6-9 for the season. Midland faced a challenging field, opening with two losses to El Paso’s Americas (10-5 overall) and Presidio (5-5 overall) before closing the weekend with a win against El Paso’s Bowie (3-9 overall).
Sophomore guard MJ Washington earned All-Tournament honors after leading the Bulldogs throughout the weekend.
The big picture:
- Game 1: Americas 49, Midland 16
- Game 2: Presidio 59, Midland 52
- Game 3: Midland 72, Bowie 54
Midland overcame a 27–22 halftime deficit to outscore Bowie in the second half.
What’s next: The Bulldogs will travel to Big Spring (4-9 overall) on Thursday, Dec. 19, for a 6 p.m. non-district matchup.
