CTE accounts for over half of Midland College students
What happened: Between the 2021–22 and 2023–24 academic years, Midland College’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs enrolled a total of 9,251 students. This means just over 3,000 students pursued CTE pathways each year.
Why it matters: CTE programs make up a large part of Midland College’s student population, and are supported by millions in taxpayer funding.
The big picture: In the 2023–24 academic year, Midland College had a total enrollment of 6,059 students. Of these, roughly half were enrolled in CTE programs. Dual credit students from Midland ISD and other local high schools made up just over half of CTE enrollment. The rest were other high school and adult learners.
