  • Path Forward: Dr. Deana Savage, Chief of Staff, and Jeff Chambers, Vice President of Administrative Services, presented the college’s “Path Forward“ plan, emphasizing Career and Technical Education (CTE) and fiscal responsibility. With an anticipated enrollment growth of over 1,700 Health Sciences and Applied Technology students, the college is preparing to launch several new programs. These include Natural Gas Compression, Heavy Equipment, Truck and Trailer, Automation, Construction Trades, Medical Assisting, and Transportation Training. Upgrades to aging infrastructure remain a top priority.

  • Proposed budget: Chambers presented the draft 2025–2026 budget and salary schedules. While the college expects more state funding, it expects ad valorem tax revenues to decline. The college will implement Phase 2 of the Compensation Study, marking the final phase of the review. Notable changes include a transfer of $600,000 to the major repairs budget and an 8% increase in health insurance costs. Administration says they continue to seek better efficiency in budget planning.

  • President contract: The Midland College board unanimously approved a three-year contract renewal for President Damon Kennedy, who became president in 2023.
