What to watch: Wright’s Amusements brings a traveling carnival packed with rides, games, and treats to the front parking lot of Astound Broadband Stadium starting Feb. 27 through the first weekend in March. The carnival opens at 5 p.m. on weekdays and noon on weekends. General admission is free, making it an easy outing for families.
The big picture: Wright’s Amusements delivers classic carnival joy to Midland, blending rides, games, and treats for memorable family outings. The carnival features over 40 rides and games tailored for all ages, from gentle kiddie options like mini Ferris wheels and carousels for little ones, to adrenaline-pumping attractions such as spinning coasters and drop towers for teens and adults.
Free entry lets you explore at your pace, but rides require $1 tickets (most need three to six tickets), with unlimited wristbands available on select days for $30. Concessions accept cash or card and offer classic favorites like corn dogs, funnel cakes, cotton candy, burgers, sodas, lemonade, and caramel apples.
Go deeper: Wright’s Amusements was founded in 1962 by Floyd Wright and his brothers, Frank and Charles. The company now operates under John Ring, Floyd Wright’s nephew. Now, over 60 years later, that tradition continues under the leadership of John Ring, Floyd’s nephew, who has been a part of the carnival his entire life.
What they’re saying: “We have more than 40 rides, plus a variety of midway games and delicious food options for all our attendees,” John Ring said. “We’re proud of our long-standing partnerships with fairs, malls, nonprofits, and festivals, many of which have hosted us for over 20 years. These relationships ensure that we bring the best rides to every community we visit.”
What’s next; Arrive early to beat lines, bring cash for tickets and snacks, and wear closed-toe shoes for ride safety. The carnival wraps after the first weekend in March, so plan your visit soon.
