Banana Ball hits Midland July 2–4, ticket lottery ends Oct. 31
What to watch: The Midland RockHounds are bringing the Banana Ball World Tour to you this summer. This twist on America’s pastime turns traditional play into a fast-paced, fan-interactive baseball. As another twist, tickets to this show are won through a lottery that closes Oct. 31.
The big picture: With 11 inventive rules designed to keep every moment electric, Banana Ball leaves no room for the usual downtime of traditional baseball. Every inning counts, every play matters, and every fan is part of the show. Think of it as part baseball, part circus, part comedy show, and the action never slows down.
Fans must enter the ticket lottery by October 31 for a chance to score seats. Those selected will get access to all three nights of games plus exclusive in-stadium experiences.
Go deeper: The show comes to Momentum Bank Ballpark on July 2–4, 2026. RockHounds Season-ticket holders and sponsors receive priority access ahead of the general draw. The ticket winners will be announced before the event, so be sure to check to see if you are one of them.
The 11 rules of Banana Ball:
- Every inning counts—teams earn one point for each inning they win.
- Games last two hours—no new inning starts after time expires.
- Batters can steal first base on any passed ball.
- No bunting.
- Batters must stay in the box; step out and it’s a strike.
- If a fan catches a foul ball, it’s an out.
- Walks become a “sprint”: all fielders must touch the ball before it’s live.
- No mound visits allowed.
- If a batter approaches the plate to walk-up music, the song must finish before play begins.
- Tie games go to a one-on-one showdown between pitcher and batter.
- The game always ends with a celebration—win or lose.
