What happened: Early voting for the March 3 Primary Election is officially over. As of Friday, 7,371 total ballots were cast, including 382 by mail, representing about 7.5% of registered voters in Midland County. Because this is a primary election, voters choose either a Republican or Democratic ballot, so the total reflects participation across both parties.

If you missed your opportunity to vote early, Election Day is Tuesday, May 26. Run-offs typically see lower voter turnout, so The Permian Press recommends that everyone make a plan to vote and encourage others to do the same. A full list of Election Day locations is below. All locations are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Local races on the Republican ballot include the County Judge runoff between Karen Hood and Jay Marquez, and the County Commissioner, Precinct 4, race between Dianne Anderson and Lance Friday. You can read The Permian Press’ candidate Q&As at the links above. There are no local races on the Democratic runoff ballot.
