Rangerettes pull away late to beat Lady Bulldogs 43–34
What happened: Greenwood earned a 43–34 road win over Midland in a crosstown matchup on Tuesday, Jan. 6. The victory improved the Rangerettes to 10–11 overall, while the Lady Bulldogs fell to 14–8 on the season. Bella Rivas led the Rangerettes with 14 points, followed closely behind by Emily Jones with 13. Kayden Young led the Lady Bulldogs with 10 points.
The big picture: Midland held a narrow 10–8 edge after the first quarter, but Greenwood answered in the second, outscoring the Lady Bulldogs 11–8 to take a 19–18 lead into halftime. Midland reclaimed momentum after the break, posting an 11–5 third quarter to move in front 29–24 entering the final period. Greenwood took control late, delivering its strongest stretch of the night with a 19–5 fourth quarter to pull away and secure the nine-point win.
