What to watch: Midland’s second annual Veterans Parade and Celebration is Saturday, Nov. 7 from 1 p.m. through the night. The free, family-friendly event is organized by the Midland Veterans Partnership and includes a parade, community activities, fireworks, and a free concert by the Eli Young Band at Centennial Park. This years event is part of the city’s America 250 celebrations.
The big picture: The Midland Veterans Partnership formed last year to bring the Veterans Day parade back to Midland. The group works with local American Legion posts, VFW posts, Disabled American Veterans, and other veterans organizations. Their mission is to restore a community tradition and make sure veterans and their families know their service is still appreciated.
The day begins with a Commemorative Air Force flyover at 1 p.m. The parade follows from 1 to 3 p.m. along A Street, starting near the Duck Pond at Elk Street and ending at Midland High School near Illinois Avenue. The Midland RockHounds are sponsoring float prizes, with the first-place winner choosing a veterans nonprofit to receive the award.

Go deeper: The inaugural parade and cookout was held Nov. 8, 2025. It drew roughly 50 entries and about 500 spectators. It was followed by a cookout at Centennial Park that included free hot dogs, food trucks, resource booths, and a patriotic program. The City of Midland supported the first event and has named the Saturday-before-Veterans Day celebration as an ongoing tradition.
What’s next: The entire day is free and open to the public, no tickets required. More information is available at mvptx.org.
