What to watch: The 14th annual Pull for a Promise clay shoot takes aim on Friday, Sept. 5. Sportsmen, families, and supporters will gather for a full day of friendly competition, prizes, and community spirit.

The big picture: Every pull of the trigger helps Family Promise of Midland in its mission to prevent and end family homelessness. The nonprofit provides housing, childcare, case management, and vital resources that help parents and children find lasting stability. Teams and sponsors will take part in the clay shoot, enjoy raffles, and bid in live and silent auctions. Prizes are also up for grabs, including the chance to win a pistol or shotgun.
