What to watch: Centennial Park transforms into a kid-run holiday marketplace this Saturday, Dec. 6, as 29 young entrepreneurs ages 5–16 launch their own small businesses at Midland’s first child-run Holiday Market from 4–7 p.m. The fair is free and open to the public. Centennial Park is located at 200 W. Wall St.

Why it matters: This inaugural holiday event builds on the mission of the Acton Children’s Business Fair of Midland, which encourages young people to imagine, create, and lead. Each entrepreneur manages their own setup, sales, and customer interactions, creating a fully student-driven experience.

Go deeper: Organizers will award cash prizes of up to $50 in three categories across five age groups: Most Business Potential, Most Creative Idea, and Most Impressive Presentation. Families can enjoy a cheerful downtown atmosphere while supporting young creators who have worked hard to bring their holiday gift ideas to life.

Centennial Park is this year’s Holiday Market sponsor in partnership with Yucca Learning: An Acton Academy, along with The Birth Center of Midland, Simply Midland, Denali Traffic Solutions, and Gadsden Buildings of Stanton, TX. For more information, visit their website.

What they’re saying: “Today’s youth are tomorrow’s business innovators and leaders,” said Jeff Sandefer, founder of the Acton School of Business. “The Children’s Business Fair gives students the opportunity to spread their entrepreneurial wings and get a head start on promising business careers.”
