What to watch: Cinergy Entertainment Group cuts the ribbon on its newest spot, Cinergy Tall City, at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18. The 98,000-square-foot center at 4815 Loop 250 Frontage Rd. transforms the old Regal Tall City theater into a family playground with dine-in movies, bowling, escape rooms, and more.

Cinergy Tall City marks the chain’s 10th location and third in the Midland-Odessa area. Construction began in May 2025 to revamp the shuttered theater and add a new indoor go-kart wing. The multi-level indoor karting speedway, Cinergy’s first three-story extreme track with electric karts and spectator decks, debuts in spring 2026.

The big picture: Six luxury auditoriums await, including two EPIC screens with RGB laser projection and Dolby Atmos sound. Families can bowl on 11 boutique lanes, rack up prizes in an 80-game arcade, and experience four new immersive escape rooms. A sports bar anchors the eats with a 50-foot screen, self-serve Coke and ICEE stations, and American classics like fresh burgers and loaded nachos.

This theater also provides a perfect event space with private rooms, catering, and AV setups ideal for corporate events, kids’ parties, or group outings.

What they’re saying: “We’ve been part of the Midland community for over a decade,” Jeff Benson, co-founder and CEO of Cinergy, said. “And we’re proud to continue growing alongside it.”

Midland Mayor Lori Blong added, “With more than 180 new jobs and a premier entertainment destination unlike anything in our region, Cinergy Tall City represents the kind of private sector partnership that helps deliver on our city’s strategic vision.”

“Tall City will be our most dynamic and immersive location yet,” Traci Hanlon, vice president of marketing and sales at Cinergy, said. “From elevated dining to next-gen movie experiences, every element has been thoughtfully designed to deliver exceptional entertainment for our guests.”

What’s next: Swing by Cinergy Tall City for the 12:30 p.m. ribbon-cutting on Dec. 18, with the Midland Chamber of Commerce and M-Squad Ambassadors. The grand opening lines up with the Dec. 18 release of “Avatar: Fire and Ash.” Tickets are on sale for Avatar and other current blockbusters.
